An Ideal Host (CFF)

I wasn’t exactly sure what I was in for when I went into this movie. I kept seeing people talk about it on the festival discord so I decided to make sure to see it before the festival ended. I’m glad that I did, this is a fun movie but even more than that it’sContinue reading “An Ideal Host (CFF)”

WTF (Watch These Films) – CFF 2021 Short Block

This block of shorts might be my favorite block of all. It is another block of 16 shorts and they are outstanding. They are Hold Music!, With Pleasure, Thin Blue Variety Show, Good Head, The Story of Dirk and Chip, Optic Nerve, Breaking Up for the Modern Girl, Still Together, My Dinner with Werner, HarmoniaContinue reading “WTF (Watch These Films) – CFF 2021 Short Block”

Mister Limbo (CFF)

I saw a recommendation for this if you liked Scenes from an Empty Church in the festival discord and since I enjoyed that movie I immediately decided to add this to my watch list. I did enjoy the movie so it was an apt recommendation. It was written by Robert G. Putka. The movie isContinue reading “Mister Limbo (CFF)”

Secret Screening #3

The third secret screening of the festival was Black Medusa. I really wasn’t sure what I was in for as it started. In the festival discord I saw a description of Promising Young Tunisian Woman, which intrigued because I have only heard positive things about Promising Young Woman even thought I’ve not had a chanceContinue reading “Secret Screening #3”

The Schoolhouse Rocks short block was outstanding. It was sponsored by EPB Fiber Optics this year. The block is made up of student filmmakers from all over the world. Dangerous Visions – CFF 2021 Mind Expanding Shorts

All 8 of these shorts are something else. They go from mindbendy to trippy and back and forth and beyond. The shorts are Dunning Kruger, Odyssey, Body of the Mined, Lose It, Denervation, Deep Learning, Next Time, and Hey, It’s Me. Dunning Kruger was bizarre. I honest feel like I can’t do it justice andContinue reading “Dangerous Visions – CFF 2021 Mind Expanding Shorts”

We’re All Going to the World’s Fair (CFF)

I was not prepared for this movie. At first I thought of Knoxville, being from Tennessee and all, but it once I saw the poster for it I knew it had nothing to do with that. I try to avoid spoilers throughout but I will reveal a little. It seems to have a connection toContinue reading “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair (CFF)”

CFF Salutes Your Shorts – 2021 Edition

Tennessee Trio Short Block (CFF)

I watched the Tennessee Trio short block that was presented by the Tennessee Entertainment Commission. There were three shorts that were filmed in Tennessee and there was a forth that was made by Chatt State’s Summer Filmmaking Camp. Dear Hannah was the first short. It was really good. It told the story of an artistContinue reading “Tennessee Trio Short Block (CFF)”

Kandisha (CFF)

This movie is pretty intense. It isn’t at full blast the entire time but whenever it is man do you feel it. This is the second French movie that I’ve watched in the film fest so far and man have they both been absolutely outstanding. This is another film by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury.Continue reading “Kandisha (CFF)”
