The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Final 3 episodes

I’ll go ahead and say that I surprised myself by being mostly right about how these episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina would go. I knew that Umbrasyl would be killed, and that Grog would kill his uncle, but I wasn’t entirely sure of everything else. This was about the time I gave up on watching the campaign trying to catch up on it. This is without mentioning the character moments, with Vax, Scanlan, and Grog getting the biggest moments.

“The Killbox” deals with the fight between Kevdak and Grog. Grog finally gets closure on his fight with Groon from earlier in the season, with him saying that his strength comes from his friends. This gets Grog back to his strength. We also get a line lifted directly from the campaign in this episode. Grog disarms his uncle and kills him after the rest of Vox Machina cause a ruckus. Everyone vows to help take down Umbrasyl and as the episode ends Scanlan learns that Kaylie is his daughter.

“Belly of the Beast” opens with Scanlan and Kaylie having a heart to heart, of a sorts, and Kaylie vows to have nothing to do with her father. Vax finally learns that he’s the Matron of Raven’s champion after making contact with her. The plan that was supposed to keep the dragon grounded doesn’t work. After the plan falls apart Scanlan and Vax end up inside the dragon, which happens in an unconventional way. The episode ends with Umbrasyl running with the duo still inside the dragon while dragging Grog behind him.

“The Hope Devourer” opens with the rest of Vox Machina trying to catch up with the dragon. Grog is thrown from Umbrasyl’s back and is incapacitated from the fall. Vax saves Scanlan after exiting the dragon, and  he gives in to the Matron. The team manages to kill Umbrasyl in his lair. The episodes ends with Vox Machina being in Whitestone and are approached by a member of the Chroma Conclave, under the guise of Yennen. We get a peek at Thordak’s plan, which seems to be hundreds of eggs.

These three episodes are the perfect ends for the season. Everyone in the party had some amount of character growth, with some having major growth. There’s going to be a third season, though I’m not sure when it will be. I give the final three episode of season two of The Legend of Vox Machina 9 dragon eggs out of 10.
