The penultimate episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi is a game changer. There are mysteries revealed and sets the stage for what will certainly be something else. This is even the most self-contained episode. It takes place almost completely on or around Jabiim. That is except for the flashbacks, which takes place on Coruscant. The majority of the episode is basically a siege episode.
The flashbacks are peeks at the relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin during the Attack of the Clones era. This also shows the differences between the two. The siege is initiated by Reva through Lola. Reva’s backstory is sussed out by Obi-Wan before the siege is partially broken. Shortly after Obi-Wan surrenders to Reva to give the group time. He convinces Reva to assassinate Vader while Leia is able to fix what was keeping everyone on Jabiim. Obi-Wan and everyone else is able to escape. Reva’s assassination attempt fails, and she’s left for dead.
The penultimate of Obi-Wan Kenobi is the most revealing of the series. This episode made full use of the returning cast, especially Hayden Christensen. The finale looks to be a revealing bit of storytelling. I wonder if they’ll play fast and loose with canon and make people know things that they wouldn’t know. I give episode five of Obi-Wan Kenobi 9.5 lightsaber hilts out of 10.
