“Glorious Five Year Plan” is the fourth episode of The Boys season 3. This episode does some really interesting things. There are some really funny bits of satire in this episode, and I couldn’t help but laugh at it. Outside of that this is an eventful episode that changes the status quo for the series.
The story of the episode follows The Boys as they go to Russia looking for a weapon to kill Homelander after Butcher meets with Nina, Frenchie’s’ former boss. The group infiltrate a Russian military base and things get out of hand. While that’s happening, Starlight tries to recruit people to help take down Homelander. She discovers Maeve is training to do it by herself, but Starlight goes on to recruit Supersonic. He then tries to recruit A-Train after A-Train tried to bring up another Supe’s racist actions but was undercut by both Homelander and The Deep. That’s all while Homelander convinces Congresswoman Neuman to betray Stan Edgar solidifying Homelander’s take over of Vought. The episode ends with The Boys in disarray and Starlight even more terrified of Homelander.
“Glorious Five Year Plan” is an episode that takes wild swings with a comical start but a somber end. I continue to be surprised by the events of each episode. I can’t wait to see where this series goes this season. Jack Quaid, Karen Fukuhara, and Erin Moriarty all put in amazing performances in this episode. I give “Glorious Five Year Plan” 9 vials of V24 out of 10.
