Episode three of Obi-Wan Kenobi continues the quality that was started with the first two episodes. This is also the first episode that premiered on the traditional day for Disney + shows. This episode sets up where the rest of the series will go. The episode isn’t as action packed as the previous episode but what does happen is intense.
While this might be a spoiler, I’m still going to talk about Darth Vader being in this episode. His introduction in the series shows the power he has over the members of the Inquisition. When he makes his presence known it shows why he had such a mythical air when spoken about. Between Vader in Rogue One and his moments in this series so far make him feel like a horror movie villain that been put into the Star Wars universe. There is also a hint at there being more of a backstory between him and Reva which I hope is revealed by the end of the series.
The story continues Obi-Wan trying to return Leia to Alderaan. The story with Reva is focused on the hunt for Obi-Wan. Reva is more understated in this episode, which makes her less overtly terrifying. The confrontation between Obi-Wan and Vader is interesting because it shows the difference between them. Obi-Wan having tried to move on from his Jedi past and Vader continuing to hone his skills. The escape that is set up for Leia to get back home goes awry and I have no idea where it will go now.
Obi-Wan Kenobi episode three is another solid episode. The next three episodes look to be some interesting storytelling. This is one of the most interesting looks at the Star Wars universe that has been shown so far. I give “Part III” episode three of Obi-Wan Kenobi 9 lightsaber hilts out of 10.
