The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs Season 4 Week 3

Week three of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs was an interesting week. The clues were so basic that I’m pretty sure that no one guessed both of the movies. The clues were movies that have to do with hardcore quarantining that are foreign films but made in English. There weren’t any movies that came to my mind. With it being on Friday the 13th there were even other ideas. The movies ended up being The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane and Housebound with the theme being shut in with a breakdown of some superstitions from around the world.

The first movie was The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane and it was a first time viewing for me. I had seen it on the list of movies on Shudder but never thought about watching it. I knew that it starred Jodie Foster, but I wasn’t aware that Martin Sheen was also in it. It was made by both Canadian and French producers. It being made in Canada helped it be in English. The segments were equal parts about the movie and its background and also the Friday the 13th superstitions. The pre movie segment was even a breakdown for the Friday the 13th early beginnings.

The second movie was Housebound, and it was another first time viewing for me. This was a New Zealand movie. I wasn’t aware that it was on Shudder but I’m glad it was shown. I didn’t know much of anything about the movie going in. The segments were a mixture of background information for the movie, the superstitions, and some of Joe Bob’s musings about movies. He mused on Kiwi horror and horror comedies. One of the first things he mentioned was New Zealanders being called Kiwis and Darcy mentioning the Kiwi bird. The post movie segment had a breakdown of the Friday the 13th legal situation by Larry Zerner.

Week three of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs was another couple of movies that I had never seen. Even though both of the movies were nowhere near my mind when it came to the clues. When the episode becomes available, I can’t recommend watching it enough. If you have Shudder, you should always try to make time to watch the livestream with the rest of the MutantFam. I give week three of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs 10 stars out of 10.
