Nightmare 2010 is not great. I honestly can’t think of much positive stuff to say about it. I find less redeeming qualities in this than I have in any of the other movies in the franchise. This killed the franchise and there hasn’t been a new one since. I don’t think there’s the same kind of issue as with the Friday the 13th franchise.

Nightmare 2010 was directed by Samuel Bayer. It was written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer with story by Wesley Strick. It starred Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, and Connie Britton. All of the teens were played by people that had made a name for themselves before the movie. Jackie Earle Haley did the same voice that he used for Rorschach in the Watchmen movie.

This Nancy is nothing like the original Nancy. She’s just kind of there. She is barely proactive when it comes to anything being done in the movie. She does actively ask Quentin to help her multiple times, which OG Nancy tried to get her dad to help her. Everything about the movie is just so shallow.

Nightmare 2010 is kind of a rehash of the original movie. The opening is different but after that there’s some poorly done redoes of things in the original movie. The biggest change is everything being about is Freddy actually being a pedophile, rather than it being hinted at. It all being based around a preschool is also different. I guess that does mean that there’s quite a bit that’s different but it’s all so shallow it equals to nothing. They didn’t do enough with the movie to justify the remake. This has been a terrible synopsis for a terrible movie.

The CG in the movie has aged so poorly. It doesn’t look good. The only parts that look pretty good are when they use it to make Freddy look more like a burn victim. Outside of that it all looks like it was made twenty years ago. Steve Jablonsky did the music for the movie. It was okay, but none of it really stuck out to me.

Nightmare 2010 isn’t really worth watching if you’re a fan of the other movies. I don’t have anything nice to say. I give it a half Freddy glove out of ten. This Freddy glove is giving you the bowfinger.
