An Ideal Host (CFF)

I wasn’t exactly sure what I was in for when I went into this movie. I kept seeing people talk about it on the festival discord so I decided to make sure to see it before the festival ended. I’m glad that I did, this is a fun movie but even more than that it’s a good movie. It was directed by Robert Woods and written by Tyler Jacob Jones.

It starts out like a quirky rom-com but turns into something else. I don’t want to say too much but you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the turn it takes. I do want to say that when the gore start going it brought to mind early Peter Jackson use of gore.

The cast is fantastic. Nadia Collins as Liz is something else. Together with Evan Williams as Jackson they play a weird couple that don’t seem like they actually like each other at all. I also want to mention Tristan McInnes as Jon because he is hilarious as the outsider from the friend group who is thrown headfirst into a big heap of mess.

I’m not entirely sure of how the movie is being distributed or anything but I hope it gets picked up for streaming at the very least. I want to be able to share this with my friends.
